Introducing DUIMP: New Import Process in Brazil

What is DUIMP?

DUIMP (Declaração Única de Importação) is a Single Import Declaration, a digital document that integrates all necessary information about import operations, including: customs, administration, financial, commercial, duties and taxes.

Legal Reference: Annex III of SRF Normative Instruction No. 680/06.

Key Features of DUIMP

  • Centralized duties payments, deferred up to 40 days after clearance (for AEO companies).
  • Import Licenses valid for multiple shipments, prior clearance, before the shipment's arrival.
  • Single import customs clearance channel (parametrization, coordinated inspection: Customs and regulatory agencies).
  • Several modules totally integrated with new customs import process.

Who can use DUIMP?

According to Art 2 of Coana Ordinance No. 24 of July 16, 2021, only legal entities authorized to operate in foreign trade with Unlimited RADAR modality can submit goods for import clearance through DUIMP.

Product Catalog Module

What is it?

The Product Catalog is a module of the Single Portal where importers can fill in relevant information about product characteristics. It allows for:

  • Accurate information presentation in a structured way,

  • Reuse of information in subsequent operations,

  • Diagnostics to check if the registered product is subject to control by consenting agencies,

  • Activation of the licensing module if control is needed.
