The EUR 1 Movement Certificate is not manadatory for imports or exports. Applying for and receiving the EUR 1 Movement Certificate enables you to take advantage of bilateral trade agreements by obtaining a discounted duty rate. However, if you did apply for the EUR 1 Movement Certificate and do not present it to the customs office, you will be charged the standard customs tariff as a result.
